In the paper On Transitive Permutation Groups [MR:1635715, 10.1112/S1461157000000115], by Conway, Hulpke, and McKay, the authors give names to all transitive permutation groups in degrees $\leq 15$ which reflect the transitive action. These names are used in gap, pari, and SageMath.
